The Spa’s reputation, location and history has ensured that Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps has become a firm favourite circuit in many racing drivers and spectators calendar.

Since its conception The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps has frequently been modified. A major development saw the circuit shortened from 14 km (8.7 miles) to 7 km (4.35 miles) during 1979. The modernised layout, as its predecessor, remained extremely fast and hilly blasting its way through the Ardennes where speeds excess 330 km/h (205 mph).

Both drivers and spectators appreciate the challenges of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is said to demonstrate the importance of driver skill more than any other in the world. This is largely due to the Eau Rouge and Blanchimont corners, both which need to be taken flat-out to achieve a fast run onto the straights after them, which aids a driver in both a fast lap and in over-taking.
