Circuit Paul Ricard

For the third year in a row, Circuit Paul Ricard hosted the French round of the World Series by Renault. And with 75,000 spectators flocking to the circuit in Le Castellet, the meeting confirmed its status as one of France's most popular sporting events. With star names such as Alain Prost, David Coulthard, Charles Pic and Jules Bianchi, and demonstrations by Infiniti Red Bull Racing, Lotus F1 Team and the Alpine A443, all who came were treated to a weekend of thrilling all-Renault action. On the track, the first title of the year was decided as the season's climax drew closer. The glory belonged to Oregon Team, as they sealed the Teams' titles in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. The sixth WSR round of the season also saw Alpine crowned champions in the European Le Mans Series.

Bernard Cambier, commercial director for Renault France: "This is the third year in a row that we have staged the event at Paul Ricard. This edition has been an immense success, with a record attendance of 75,000 spectators. The World Series by Renault’s impact continues to grow by the year. It is a major event, and an established part of the French sporting landscape. We would like to thank the spectators for their great enthusiasm and support for the races and entertainment. The event lends added strength to the resurgence of the Renault brand, symbolised by the current success of the Clio and Captur models. Alpine’s victory in the European Le Mans Series is also a deep source of satisfaction, as the entire Renault Group has supported the revival of our motorsport marque. Finally, results on the track have shown once again that Renault’s motorsport arm is fulfilling its purpose. The presence of Charles Pic and Jules Bianchi alongside Alain Prost and David Coulthard can only have motivated our young drivers. We have undoubtedly seen future stars of F1 on track this weekend.

Formula Renault 3.5 Series: Kevin Magnussen edges closer to the title
