Luchi makes the switch to Formula Two
Luciano Bacheta announced this week that he is to switch from the GP3 Series to FIA Formula 2.
The young Brit has been competing in the GP3 Series with the RSC Mücke Motorsport team this season, where he was able to secure his first points finish of the Series in front of a home crowd at Silverstone.
Luciano Bacheta has a wealth of single-seater experience and race wins including finishing as runner-up in last year's Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup with six podiums and one win to his name. This was followed by success seasons in both the FRenault 2.0 series and the Formula Renault 2.0 WEC. In 2007 he competed in the Formula Palmer Audi championship, securing four race wins and nine podiums on his way to finishing third in the overall standings.
In an interview for FIA Formula 2.0, Luchi has stated that “I’m really looking forward to racing in F2. Having tested the F2 car before I now feel comfortable with its power and acceleration, although it did come as a bit of a surprise when I first drove it! My goal is simply to do the best job I can and hopefully get in the top 10.”
Not one to shy away from a challenge Luchi will be looking to quickly establish himself as one of the strongest drivers in the series as he makes his debut at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria this weekend.
