Eurocup Clio

The battle for the fastest time in the Clio Eurocup Championship was fought out between Frédéric Yerly, Marc Guillot and Oscar Nogues early on with the Swiss topping the time sheets.

Nogues took advantage of the pull given by his team-mates to take pole in 2m 22.068s from Mike Verschuur, Yerly and Guillot.

He stayed there for most of the session but a last-gasp effort from Guillot gave him first place with a lap in 2m 22.037s. The Frenchman scored his first two poles in the Clio Eurocup from Nogues and Yerly.

Marc Guillot: “I needed a few laps in the dry as we ran on a wet track yesterday. I managed to string it all together at the end of the session and did two good laps. It paid off and it’s a super result.”

Oscar Nogues: “I’m happy as my times are good and that’s encouraging for the race. It’s important to be at the front to avoid start-line collisions. There are a lot of very good drivers so to score a good result you have to avoid fluffing your start without getting caught out. It’s always hectic in the middle of the pack.”
