Formula Renault 3.5

Work and testing activity has been intense since the end of 2012 season. Pons Racing has been taking part in three sessions in the last month, two in Barcelona and one at Motorland, where the three-day collective session of the World Series 3.5 by Renault concluded last Friday.

The outcome of these sessions has been extremely positive for Pons Racing, confirming the significant step forward made by the squad. One of the main reasons for satisfaction has been the excellent performance by Zoel Amberg in all these sessions, as he concluded the highly-competitive test at Motorland in the top 6.

The young Swiss driver has been reconfirmed for 2013, in what will be his second season with the team and in the series. Pons Racing is extremely pleased of continuing the relationship with Zoel and confident that the two parties will be able to grow together and to show their potential in 2013.

The three test sessions have given the opportunity to Pons Racing to test a number of drivers for the next season. These included Swiss drivers Nico Müller and Mathéo Tuscher in Barcelona end of October, Romania’s Mihai Marinescu in the second Barcelona outing early November, while Britons Luciano Bacheta (recently crowned FIA Formula Two champion) and Nick Yelloly, and young Russian Dmitry Suranovich were on track at Motorland.

They all performed well, taken also in consideration that with the exception of Müller and Yelloly, they all were debuting at the wheel of a WSR 3.5 car.
