Pieter Schothorst enters Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0
18 year old rising star Pieter Schothorst has become the one to watch as the Dutchman achieved early success as vice champion of the 2010 Dutch & Benelux Formula Ford (15 races, 3 wins, 9 podiums, 5 pole positions). Beginning his career in 2008 he went on to win the 2009 Dutch Champion Suzuki Swift Cup (12 races, 6 wins, 11 podiums, 3 pole positions). Previous success allowed him to move to single seater for Formula Ford, achieving a series of impressive race results including a podium place finish at the Formula Ford Festival in Brands Hatch.
The World Series by Renault 2011 season is forecast to be another opportunity to further increase Pieter’s race craft and ability, competing in the single seater class Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. The mix of international circuits and a car with increased down force will provide an exciting new set of challenges for Pieter to excel.
New to the R-ace GP team, Pieter felt comfortable from the beginning, as they share his passion, professionalism and motivation for the sport. Driving for R-ace GP, a team closely associated to ART GP, Pieter will be alongside three competitive team mates who will help him push him to the next level in his career.

“2010 has been an amazing learning year for me. I have gained enough experience to be comfortable and fast in the Formula Renault.
