Eurocup Mégane Trophy
Albert Costa, winner of the 2009 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, and among the front-runners in the Formula Renault 3.5 series over the past two years is competing in the Eurocup Mégane Trophy in 2012. He is delighted to be still a part of the World Series by Renault ambience and to start his season in front of his home crowd.
“It always gives your motivation an extra boost when you’re racing in front of your fans even if I know the Barcelona circuit better,” explains the Oregon Team driver. “I love this track as it’s here that I won my FR 2.0 Eurocup title. My fans encourage me with ‘Come on Albert’ and it’s a really nice feeling.”
In addition to racing in front of his fans and friends, Albert is continuing his career in the World Series by Renault, an environment he knows very well: “It’s like I’m in a big family here; I’ve been racing in the World Series by Renault since 2008, and I think I’m the only one to have competed in all three categories. I know everybody and everybody knows me. They give me a lot of support. It’s an important part of my life: the Renault paddock is my second family.”
