The 31 year old Dutchman is back to compete in his second year of the Eurocup Mégane Trophy, after finishing fourth in just his first season. His McGregor teammates from last year, Jeroen Schothorst and Wim Beelen, will also join TDS.
French team, TDS Racing were champions in all their competing categories in 2010. Xavier Combet’s team finished the season with all three Eurocup Mégane Trophy titles: Drivers, Teams and Gentlemen Drivers. The Eurocup Mégane Trophy was launched in 2005 and is one of four championships racing under the Renault Sport banner.
The TDS team are renowned for their strong team culture and have developed a car to beat. With the team behind him the Dutchman remains confident he can be a hot contender for the title. The first race of the new season will be at Motorland in Spain on 16 and 17 April and all eyes will be on Bas.
Bas Schothorst: "It's great to join TDS together with the rest of the McGregor team! I did a test with them in Barcelona directly after last season. I was impressed by the dedication and the professional way of working of the team. With the Mégane Eurocup the World Series by Renault creates a great platform for competitive racing. I learnt a lot last year in this series and I'm confident that we can compete for the title this year. I'm really looking forward to the start of the season!"
