Eurocup Clio

Though the Eurocup Clio season comes to a close at Motorland Aragon at the start of November, that does not mean to say the Barcelona meeting will be lacking in excitement.

Massimiliano Pedala (Composit Motorsport) held on to his points lead at the Circuit Paul Ricard, but saw Nicolas Milan (Team LMV CL Brakes) close the gap nevertheless. Third in the standings, Renault UK Clio Cup frontrunner Josh Files (Team Pyro) had his momentum checked by a retirement in race two in France, though with only 23 points separating him from the top, his title bid is still alive.

The only man to beat the leading trio all season, Oscar Nogues (RMS Engineering) has hopes of impressing at home. The Spaniard is still in with a mathematical chance of retaining his title, but has to win every race from here on in to do so.

Eric Tremoulet (Vic’Team) and Thomas Fjordbach (Polar Seafood Racing) both have podium places but no wins to their names. Respectively fourth and fifth overall, they also have no option but to score victories to stay in title contention.

The best-placed outsiders in the standings, Facundo Della Motta (Milan Competition) and Ivan Pulic (Lema Racing Team) can also be expected to give it everything they have got in what should be an explosive finish to the season.
