Luciano Bacheta Interwetten.com Junior Team in 2010.
The 19 year old Luciano Bacheta starts in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for the Interwetten.com Junior Team in 2010. The young driver from Essex, England is the first signed driver for the established Junior program of the successful Interwetten.com Racing Team.
The Briton from Brentwood began his racing carrier in 2004, aged 13. After some years in karting he entered the Formula Palmer Audi Championship in 2007. With four victories and eight podiums he went up to the very top straight away and finished the season 3rd in the overall standings. In 2008 and 2009 he competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 WEC as well as in Eurocup.
Luciano now wants to challenge his third Eurocup season together with the Interwetten.com Junior Team. "He is well able for this task as he proved last Tuesday at the test in Motorland Aragon. After his first contact with the new Formula Renault 2.0, we were all very satisfied with Luciano's performance. The new Formula Renault 2.0 has been designed to give young drivers aiming to graduate to Formula 1 the perfect tool to hone their talent. The 210bhp 4-cylinder 2.0-litre 16V engine, is combined with a seven-speed sequential gearbox with electric steering wheel mounted paddles. It calls upon deft driving skills, which the drivers will need for their future", commented Michael Schneider pleased.
For the Interwetten.com racing team, the foundation of the Junior program was an important step in furtherance of young talents. The idea behind the Development Program is to recognise young talents at an early stage and to win them for the team by support and boost them constantly together with the main sponsor Interwetten.com. In case that a driver of the junior team wins the Eurocup Championship, Interwetten.com Racing and Renault Sport will bear the costs for the entire World Series by Renault 3.5 series season.
