Formula Renault 3.5

Gravity Sport Management has decided to change Kevin Korjus’s environment. The young Estonian has left Tech 1 Racing after a year-and-a-half’s collaboration blessed with three victories and five podium finishes in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. Kevin is joining up with the Lotus team at the Hungaroring to drive the car in which Richie Stanaway started the year.

“Given the first part of Kevin Korjus’s season we reckoned it was necessary to evaluate him in different conditions and in a different environment,” explains Gwenaël Lagrue, the Gravity Sport Management driver programme manager. “Today, we’ve taken the decision to enter Kevin with the Lotus team for the rest of the season, in place of Richie Stanaway who’s convalescing till the end of this season.

“The collaboration between Gravity Sport Management, Tech 1 Racing and Kevin has been a fruitful one with three victories and five podium finishes. This decision doesn’t call into question the confidence we have in the team, which is again fighting for the two titles this year. Tech 1 Racing has proved its potential for several years now, and it goes without saying that our organization will entrust one of our drivers to it in the future, as has been the case over the past few years, in either Formula Renault 2.0 or in the Formula 3.5 Series.

“Kevin must now seize the opportunity that has been given to him by joining Lotus to get back among the front-runners. He’s currently ninth in the championship and we’re convinced he can do better. First of all, he must regain his self-confidence and that’s part of the reason why we think that changing teams is good for him.”
