2013 World Series by Renault
DAMS marked the maiden outing of the new Formula Renault 3.5 and their return to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series with two poles, both secured by Arthur Pic, though it was Nick Yelloly and Robin Frijns who took the race wins in Aragon, all under the watchful eye of Jean-Eric Vergne, the weekend’s Red Bull F1 demo driver.
The Dutchman’s haul of 40 points sent him to the top of the standings. In the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, meanwhile, Daniil Kvyat came close to a full house in claiming a pole, two race wins and a fastest lap. Stoffel Vandoorne and Norman Nato, who have since moved up to the flagship category, both claimed a podium finish apiece, as did rookie Nyck de Vries, one of the favourites for this season’s title.
Bas Schothorst equalled Kvyat’s feat by completing a race double of his own in the Eurocup Megane Trophy.
