The Renault Twizy, presented at the Paul Ricard circuit in 2011, was back in the Var this year for the French round of the World Series by Renault. The French make’s small electric town car was a part of the Renault Sports Show to the delight of the crowd. At the same time, the Renault Zoé attracted a lot of attention in the Renault Sport Village because it prefigures the new generation of electric vehicles.
As at every one of the World Series by Renault meetings everything was done on the Paul Ricard circuit to entertain kids and adults with the show out on the track. In addition to thrilling races, spectacular F1 shows, the Renault Classic Show with dizzying 360° donuts by Jean Ragnotti, the Renault Sport Show widened its scope to give an exclusive welcome to the Twizy.
Twizy was decorated in Rock Glam Love style and it adopted a resolutely modern look to be part of the colourful Renault Sport Show mixing in with the powerful Mégane R.S.s, topping the bill in terms of thrills. In the hands of Raphaëlle, more usually seen on rollers rewarding the most fervent supporters by throwing them T-shirts, Twizy showed that it was possible to put together a show combining electric and petrol-engined vehicles.
Twizy wasn’t the only electric star at Le Castellet as the Renault ZOE unveiled at the Paris Motor Show was also present in the Renault Village. It attracted the glances of a horde of on-lookers as it prefigures the future of Renault, the first make in the world to have invested so much in the challenge posed by electric cars. The Zero Emission range has been widened even further to offer an alternative to car lovers who are also keen on preserving the environment. Twizy and Zoé showed that electric vehicles are packed with advantages and charm!
